Ibanez Gio Thing “AKA” Black Night
This recaped Ibanez is an absolute screamer! This was a rescued failed attempt at putting a 2005 EXR170 neck on a older Luthite body. Luthite is a light-weight synthetic material caped with a hardwood veneer. This axe has jumbo frets that have all been Leveled crowned and polished. This axe plays like a dream now. The neck is very comfortable thin and slim. The pickups are Ibanez and sound fantastic. The bridge is a hot at 17.41k the middle pickup is 5.18k and the neck is 5.31k. Comes with a new bone nut and original first generation FAT10 tremlo. The trem bar size is 6mm but is not included with guitar. You can find them on Ebay at a good price. This axe has a fiveway switch with a single tone and volume. The input jack is new and still a bit stiff, so you need to push hard and it clicks in place solid. comes with a new fender trem back plate. the tuners are original to the neck and work great. There is a bit of damage to the fretboard above the first fret. It appears someone tried to scalp it an gave up. This has been smooth out and does not affect the play-ability at all. If you are looking for a fun and fine playing axe on the cheap, here you go. This is a true resurrection.
